Jet Offset Lithography
Jet Offset Lithography allows us to print
lithographically on presses specifically designed to
print converted envelopes. When your needs
require quick turnarounds and high quality
printing, Jet Offset Litho, sometimes confused with
Laser Jet printing, is the perfect solution. EnvelopeAmerica’s Jets print from one color to four color process with detailed image reproduction and controlled color accuracy, providing you a quality product quickly, efficiently, and cost effectively. Whether your needs are for a few hundred envelopes or multiple millions, our eight presses give you the flexibility to get envelopes turned quickly, while managing the registration and color consistency to insure a high quality product.
Jet Offset Lithography, like Flat Sheet Lithography, is based on the principal that oil and water do not mix. The surface of the plate is treated so that the non-print areas attract water and the printing areas repel it. If the plate is dampened before the ink is applied, the non-print areas absorb the water and the oil-based inks will only be attracted to the printing surfaces. The dampening rollers pick up water from the reservoir and apply it to the surface of the plate. A series of ink rollers pick up, meter, and apply ink to the plate. As the plate turns against the blanket cylinder, the ink is transformed from the plate to the blanket. The blanket cylinder controls the pressure and allows a perfect “kiss” onto the substrate to insure the highest quality.
EnvelopeAmerica has invested in Computer-to-Plate technology which offers us a higher quality reproduction of the dots that make up the printed images. We have transitioned from producing an industry standard 133 line screen to a 150 line screen on every order run in our plant.
With printing speeds in excess of 60,000 impressions per hour, Jet Presses are the fastest way to print converted envelopes. They offer a large printing area and with the ability to perfect, Jet Presses enable you to print both sides of the envelope in one pass, saving time and money. When the time demands of your customers make printing a job flexographically or on a Flat Sheet Press impossible, our Jet presses, including our EM4000, are the perfect solution. This press is equipped with the latest technology enabling us to print four color process at speeds up to 30,000 impressions per hour.
